Anabel Torres

Anabel Torres is a performing artist and teacher from Menifee, California. Having been performing since the age of 10, Anabel has won several competitions before the age of 18, most notably the San Diego Flute Guild Young Artist Senior Competition in 2016. At the age of 15, she was named as finalist for the Honors Performance Series for which she performed at Carnegie Hall. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in flute performance at the University of North Texas in 2021 and subsequently earned her master’s degree in flute performance at the Temple University Boyer College of Music in 2023. During her studies, Anabel performed at numerous notable venues including the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. She was selected as the flutist for the New School Wind Quintet, Temple University’s premier graduate chamber ensemble as well as the NTXV Wind Quintet in Denton, Texas, a chamber ensemble that performed in the North Texas area and won first prize in the Rising Talents of America Competition in 2021. Her primary teachers include Kate Prestia-Schaub, Terri Sundberg, and Mimi Stillman. Anabel has been teaching privately since the age of 17, most recently serving as flute faculty for the Temple University Community Music Scholars Program.
