Andrew Kreitner

Clarinet/Saxophone Teaching Artist

Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School

Andrew Kreitner gravitated towards tenor saxophone to separate himself from his “womb-mates”; his triplet brothers. Now a Baltimore-based jazz educator and composer, he empowers his students and audiences to find their own musical voices. Andrew is an in-demand teacher, maintaining his studio at The Music Workshop, teaching woodwinds at Pimlico Elementary/Middle School, and serving Baltimore’s youth with the BSO OrchKids program.

He is a recent graduate of the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where he received the full-ride Graduate Jazz Fellowship scholarship. Andrew’s compositions for the Fellowship Octet saw performances at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, Baltimore x Baltimore Festival, and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center. Whether teaching, performing, or writing music, Andrew loves presenting jazz that inspires individuality.
