Maira Díaz, originally from Honduras, is a dedicated community advocate and proud parent with a lifelong passion for helping others. She is the mother of Valery and Dixon Guerra, both committed students in the OrchKids program.

Maira currently serves as Program Coordinator at Highlandtown Elementary/Middle School #237, where she supports the OrchKids team in its mission to transform lives through music. In addition to her administrative role, she represents families as a member of the east-side hub Parent Committee, ensuring that the voices and needs of parents are reflected in OrchKids’ work.

Her professional path began as an Adult Assistant at Colgate Elementary and later as a Program Assistant with OrchKids. These experiences deepened her commitment to fostering student growth and supporting families, providing them with tools and guidance to reach their full potential. Bilingual in Spanish and English, Maira uses her skills to bridge language barriers, advocate for inclusion, and create environments where every child feels valued.

Rooted in the values of perseverance, empathy, and solidarity, Maira continues to build her career in service of others. She is passionate about education, proud of her cultural heritage, and committed to uplifting her community through her work with OrchKids.
