Patrick Bain is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland where he served as Percussion Studio Graduate Assistant from August 2023 until May 2025. He received his Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance at the University of Maryland studying with Edouard Beyens and Scott Christian and he received bachelor’s degrees in Music and Mechanical Engineering as well as a Performer’s Certificate for percussion from the University of Florida where he studied percussion with Dr. Kenneth Broadway and drum set with Clyde Connor. Patrick was added to the percussion substitute list for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in May of 2024 and he performs actively with many orchestras in the DC/Baltimore area. He also serves as the Percussion Coordinator for the National Orchestral Institute + Festival where he is tasked with dividing percussion parts, coordinating equipment needs, and performing with the NOI Philharmonic as a percussion extra.

Patrick has taught students aged elementary through undergraduate as a private lesson instructor, group lesson instructor, and performance technician for drum lines and front ensembles. During his time living in Gainesville, FL Patrick served as a percussion instructor in the Ocala Symphony Community Music Conservatory and Hoggtowne Music as well as front ensemble instructor/tenor drum technician for Unity Percussion. Before beginning graduate school in Maryland, Patrick also worked as a supplier quality engineer in the medical device industry in Florida, ensuring compliance to FDA and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) requirements as well as earning the designation Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS).
