Daniel Morrison
Media Coordinator & Low Brass Teaching Artist
Daniel Morrison is a versatile musician, with experience in many styles of brass performance, composition, theatrical performance, music production, and music education. After spending most of his childhood in Kenya as a missionary kid, he earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Taylor University and his Master of Music in Bass Trombone Performance from the University of Delaware.
Daniel performs regularly with the Maryland Winds and the OrchKids Brass Band. Previously, he has performed with Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass, the Adirondack Performing Arts Fellowship Orchestra, and several regional and community orchestras in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Since coming to Baltimore in 2019, he has gained a deep interest in and appreciation for collective composition, a key component of OrchKids’ philosophy and practice.
When he is not teaching at OrchKids, Daniel volunteers with Peabody Christian Fellowship and with 10:12 Sports, a local sports ministry offering mentoring and job training to teenagers in Baltimore. He and his wife, Mia, live in Southwest Baltimore. To learn more, listen to performances and compositions, or read a very sporadically-updated blog, visit danielmorrisonmusic.com.
